Custom G-70 M (Modified)

Handcrafted archtop · Florentine cutaway · Ready to play

This exceptional Custom G-70 M is a rare find for the discerning player or collector. Built in 2003, it features the elegant Florentine cutaway.  The neck joins the body at the 12th fret — a configuration that extends the body resonance and contributes to its distinctively deep, mellow voice. Flame maple binding graces the body, neck, and headcap, lending the guitar a striking visual sophistication that perfectly complements its extraordinary tonewoods.

The back and sides are crafted from genuine Brazilian rosewood — a tonewood of near-legendary status, prized for its warmth, complexity, and bell-like sustain. Combined with the extended body created by the 12th fret join, the result is a voice that is rich, full, and beautifully nuanced. This is a guitar that rewards both the player and the listener.

The artistry of this guitar is exceptional even by Gallagher’s exacting standards. The headstock is adorned with the iconic Gallagher Bellflower inlay rendered in mother of pearl — a hallmark of the finest instruments to leave the shop. The fretboard carries Don Gallagher’s stunning dogwood leaves and blooms inlay, a masterwork combining mother of pearl, abalone pearl, and wood that brings the design to life with remarkable depth and dimension. Fitted with gold Schaller tuning machines, every detail of this guitar speaks to uncompromising quality.

The guitar carries minor finish blemishes consistent with its age but has been professionally set up and is completely ready to play. A truly special instrument — one that is as beautiful to look at as it is to hear.

This is a special one with all of the appointments and the Brazilian rosewood so the price reflects it: $8,500
